In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

According to Wikipedia, "Count Your Blessings" is a popular song written by Irving Berlin for the movie White Christmas. The best known recordings were made by Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby and Eddie Fisher.

However; the Filipino singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan sings an additional verse to this popular song while maintaining a modern yet familiar tune.

Count Your Blessings (Instead Of Sheep) Irving Berlin

When I’m worried and I can’t sleep
I count my blessings instead of sheep
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

When my bankroll is getting small
I think of when I had none at all
And I fall asleep counting my blessings

I think about a nursery and I picture curly heads
And one by one I count them as they slumber in their beds

If you’re worried and you can’t sleep
Just count your blessings instead of sheep
And you’ll fall asleep counting your blessings

And (you’ll) I’ll fall asleep counting my blessings

Additional lyrics:

I thank the Lord for good health
For the gift of love He sends
But most of all He’s blessed me
With my family and friends

When you feel that you’re down and out
Just count your blessings, I have no doubt
You’ll soon be on your feet, counting your blessings

I need to come here more often and read your words. Inspiring blog.

Thanks for commenting on my "Mama's Jail" story. Yes, indeed, I did write it and forgot to put the copyright at the end. (correcting now...) I'm so used to posting them on my own blog without doing so because I have the copyright already on the page. I would love to be published. That would be a dream come true.

I shall keep writing....Thank you for the encouragement.

Nice to hear from you Mimi Lenox and I appreciate your kind words. Your Story you wrote, Mama's Jail is a Thanksgiving Classic. Perhaps you might consider sending some of your Writings to various Magazines for Publication consideration, kind of like a Freelance Writer. Then hopefully one day as dreams come true, Readers will have the privilege of owning a book of yours :)
